Until the new board gets back up, and I can actually complete my sign-up, I thought I'd post this here.....what an honor and well deserved!

That is awesome. Rass might be the greatest person I know and I doubt there is anyone out there that has "bluer" blood. I'm glad to see they are honoring him in this way.

So when this gets built, is the Old Gym basically for men's basketball only?

I think that's right...but I bet the guys get a little run in the new place if they need space for whatever reason...i'd still like them to be able to practice more at the Qwest Center but that's me

The Men's Basketball team needs either their own, brand new, state of the art practice facility or the complete renovation of the Vinardi Center. I know this is in the master plan but why this has not been a priority from day one is beyond me.

Maybe someone who knows a bit more on the subject can fill me in (though apparently there are under 15 minutes left on this board so perhaps not):

I understand that we've secured the appropriate funding for both the Ryan and the Ras, so it isn't as if CU is burning its savings to build new athletic facilities. But what is the plan in terms of building new dorms? It's clear we need at least one big new dorm. It seems like these new buildings will replace the Kiewit Fitness Center, which in theory could be torn down, making space for a new building within a few years. How does the Skutt Center affect that architecturally- would it be possible to knock down the KFC, leaving Skutt intact? Just wondering.

I know it's not really related to CU basketball, but it's been on my mind.

I always heard a new dorm was going to replace the complex when a new baseball stadium was built. Your going to be waiting a while for that new dorm it looks like.

My understanding is that new dorms will be down on top of the baseball fields, not by KFC.
